All New Xperia X10

Xperia will probably be familiar to many here but the X10 is in fact Sony Ericsson’s first attempt at an Android phone. With the overwhelming majority of popular Android phones coming from HTC, Motorola and Google themselves, frankly we were quite interested in seeing how well a Sony Ericsson Android phone would perform.
Design
Since Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia X10, many have criticised on its design – mainly its bulky screen. Do we need another phone with a screen even larger than that of the HTC Desire?  Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is based on Google Android mobile platform features large 4″ inch capacitive touchscreen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz Processor to be exact and as an iPhone user, I found this additional 0.5 inches of display fairly enjoyable. It is by no means inconvenient for your jeans’ pockets and doesn’t make the phone uncomfortable to hold. It has to be remembered that while it may look large, it feels alot thinner than it actually is – 13mm in full thickness. It is not any heavier than an i phone 3GS or the HTC Desire.

If you asked me to describe the Xperia X10 in a few words, I would happily shout out the words elegant, stylish and too simple. You see, we personally think that Sony Ericsson have created a very stylish device, it looks and feels elegant and smart. We like the way the solid keys at the bottom have been laid out, small but still usable and not annoying.

However, when we say too simple, we’re implying that SE have not thought it through well enough when designing the exterior of the X10. They have concentrated so much into making the phone look slick and simple that when you want to find its MicroSD, you’d find yourself confused as to where to look.
The X10’s MicroSD is in fact very well hidden, tucked within its guts which, yes, means you need to open its back cover (this isn’t easy at all, not a simple slide and push mechanism but a ‘fingernail’ mechanism) to fish out your memory card if you want to transfer something and you haven’t got your USB cable with you.
